Multi-channel music nut questions about multi March Audio configuration
Topic starter
[#19]
Very happy with my March Audio power amps which replaced my failing 7 channel power DAC.
I love my multi-channel music, movies and TV shows.
I was thinking of changing the configuration of my P422s so that one powers the Left and Surround Left and the other the Right and Surround Right.
When playing back stereo I would only be using one channel in each amp.
Are there any downsides to doing this?
Also, my processor only has two 12v trigger outs.
Could I daisy chain one trigger out to both P422s and the other to the P451 and P452?
Where would I obtain these cables?
I use a Little Bear 3 way balanced switch to switch the Left and Right channels between my processor and each of my DACs.
If the P422s have the trigger wire connected but no 12v signal can I manually power them on and off?

The surrounds likely need less power than the main front ones.
And positioning them for the shortest speaker cable length is usually also somewhat worthwhile… That is assuming that the surround amp can sit near the back.

Either daisy chain, or in parallel… which is via soldering iron, or a Y connector.
I would choose a Y connector.

Hi @mboddy
No problem with doing this.
The 12v trigger can be split with standard stereo 3.5mm headphone splitters and extension cables.
If the trigger input is off, then yes you can still use the front panel button.
