Featuring the stunning Purifi class D technology developed by Bruno Putzeys, the 1ET6525SA module used in the P282 delivers extraordinary low noise and distortion and sublime subjective audio quality. Exceptionally clean and neutral sound with deep tight bass and extended sweet high frequencies. It delicately reveals the smallest of details in the recording with a warmth that engages the soul.
PURIFI’s continuing research into nonlinear control theory has produced the first mathematically exact large signal model of self-oscillating amplifier controllers. This breakthrough allows complete optimization of the feedback circuit and improves performance by at least an order of magnitude over existing implementations. The amplifier module further incorporates a comprehensive protection system that makes it tremendously robust and protects your speakers.
The class leading technical performance delivers a captivating musical sound that will suit the finest partnering equipment. Whilst the P282 is our lowest power amplifier, it is fully 2 ohm capable with ultra low output impedance. The P282 can deliver up to 285 watts into 4 ohms and 25 Amps ensuring tremendous grip and drive even with challenging speaker loads. It has load invariant performance. It’s exceptionally low noise and distortion make it ideal for near field monitoring. Also ideal for high sensitivity and horn speakers where hiss and noise from lesser quality amplifiers can become apparent, or where the highest power levels are not required.
Our new “Ultra” input buffer has been designed to extract the maximum performance from the Purifi module, minimise noise and eliminate ground loops. Featuring Neutrik XLR input connectors, 4 layer circuit board, OPA1612 op amps and very low noise LT3045/94 voltage regulators. The unique buffer topology provides remarkably low levels of noise and distortion that our competitors just cant match. Troublesome RF signals are effectively filtered at the input. High and low input gain can be selected via a rear panel switch for optimal signal to noise ratio depending upon whether your source is RCA or XLR. The balanced XLR input is fully compatible with RCA sources by using an adaptor cable. Note that amps which fit RCA connectors on the chassis do not solve the ground loop problem inherent to RCA.
The new main power supply is custom designed and a significant improvement over the Hypex unit used by other manufacturers. Our PSU features very low noise with high current output. Active synchronous rectification means it has excellent voltage regulation and doesn’t suffer from bus pumping. Efficiency is improved with power factor correction. This means higher power output and lower noise and distortion than our competitors can achieve using the off the shelf Hypex PSU.
The highest quality components are used throughout. Top tier capacitors from the likes of Elna and Rubycon. ETI Research Link speaker posts are manufactured from Tellurium Copper with gold plating for superior conductivity and long lasting durability. Canare and Mogami cabling ensure internal signals are transported with absolute integrity.
Hand built and individually tested, the P282 is backed up with a 5 year warranty. This can be extended to 10 years.
