Is Trump just a bare faced liar or is he really that stupid that he doesn't understand?

I can assure you that March Audio or Australia are not paying anything to to US government. Nor have we reduced our prices to the US to offset the 10% tariff imposed on Australian imported goods.
Its our end customers that get a bill from the courier, who are the US customs broker, when the product arrives in the US to pay the tariff before final delivery.
The tariff cost is 100% passed along to the consumer.
The importer pays the tariff. That could be, as in our case, the end private consumer directly, or a shop, or a manufacturing company. Whichever it is, those additional costs get passed on to the end consumer.
The most ludicrous claim from Trump here is that China is "eating" the tariff. China tariffs are 145%. That would mean that an item that normally costs $100 would cost $245. If Trump is correct in his assertions that means China would pay the US $145 in tariffs. So in other words overall China would be paying the US $45 to buy the product!
"Hey America, have the product for free and let us pay you an extra $45"
No one believes that is happening, do they?
