Yep

How do you know their intentions?
They have never mentioned intentions to do anything like Trump has. Trump telegraphed a lot of his intentions in rhetoric before the election.
Secondly the Australian democratic system wouldn't allow what's happening in the US. Judges for example are not political appointments. So there are checks and balances.

Who is going to be swayed by facts, when they are being swayed by emotion?
Oh for sure, he has a solid group of voters that avidly support him. However, what about the swathes of people who voted for him because of the appealing MAGA mantra, yet have suddenly found the reality of Trumps policies literally devastating?
US farmers for one example. Typical Trump fan base, now facing bankruptcies, suicides etc, problems specifically caused by Trumps policies
How about people that beleived Trump when he said prices would drop? Inflation is rising.
Those that wanted illegal immigrants dealt with, but cant approve of people being grabbed off the street's and "disapeared" without due process.
Those that realised his "big beautiful bill" was taking money away from the poor and giving it to the rich? That this bill was going to increase US debt by trillions? Even Elon bailed out at that point.
Those that initially beleived Trumps lies that tariffs are paid by the foreign country or business and have subsequently discovered its US businesses that pay. Something that gets passed onto the citizen through higher prices.
I actually had to explain this to one US customer who was shocked when he got a tarrif bill from DHL (the customs broker to the US government). He didn't understand it was nothing to with us and for him to pay. I simply explained the situation (that Trump was lying) and suggested he speaks to his representative in congress.
Those millions that rely on Medicaid but who will now lose it due to the cuts.
Those that lost their jobs in Elons random uninformed DOGE axings.
I could go on.

Not true. Most are just humouring Trump. They know he is finite, they know he is TACO, and they are simply keeping their heads down whilst momentum amongst US citizens grows. Some are combating Trump head on (Canada).
The solution wont come from other countries. It will come from US citizens. However, factual information needs to be placed in all possible places to inform people of what's happening.
Mine is just one voice of many. A voice you, if I may say so, seem very keen to silence. If my voice is so inconsequential, why worry? Also, you might be surprised how many visitors this forum gets.
Another US customer I was conversing with today made unprompted comments on the crazy things Trump is doing. He fully understood he is paying more for our products through tariffs and a devaluing US dollar.
The more people talk and think, the more likely the problem will be tackled.

The one thing that is noteworthy, is that you and Amir are in violent agreement on this topic.
Not any more, have you seen the approval ratings? Most unpopular President ever.
Amir? Well, anyone that is informed and objective will conclude that Trump is against everything America stands for.........and that's the key, informing people.

Political violence is never acceptable. Charlie Kirk's murder is abhorrent.
Trump has just used this heinous act for political gain. He has used it to demonise and attack different political views (the left), and incite.
He ignores the recent political murders of democrats, but flies the flag at half mast for Charlie Kirk.

Jonathan Chait
Donald Trump may have sounded like he was deploring violence and calling for unity in his remarks last night about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He in fact did the opposite, Jonathan Chait argues. https://theatln.tc/P1pM9qcc
In his response, Trump claimed that “the radical left,” through its comparisons of Kirk and other MAGA figures to “the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals,” was “directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today.”
“Trump’s rhetoric assumes that a left-wing activist murdered Kirk. That may well be borne out,” Chait writes. “But when the president made this claim, there was literally no evidence of this at all.”
“The most important move Trump made in his remarks was to define political violence as an exclusively left-wing tactic,” Chait continues. In listing “a series of events carefully selected to implicate his enemies and exonerate his allies,” Trump included his own assassination attempt last year and the shooting of the GOP lawmaker Steve Scalise in 2017, but excluded the shootings of two Democratic state lawmakers earlier this year, the 2022 attack on Paul Pelosi, and the 2020 attempted kidnapping of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
“Every political movement in history, including the most bloodthirsty, has condemned political violence by its opponents,” Chait continues. “The only real test is whether you also oppose political violence by your allies. This is a test Trump has repeatedly failed.”
Trump last night widened the definition of political violence “far beyond violence or even incitement,” Chait writes, to include those who compared Kirk to Nazis or other historical mass murderers—even as Trump has routinely likened his opponents to Communists and Nazis.
Trump promised that his administration would go after “the radical left”—a term he routinely uses to describe the entire Democratic Party—including its funding sources. “Here is the straightforward reading of his rhetoric: The president of the United States is treating the political opposition as accessories to murder and threatening to use the full power of the government to attack it,” Chait writes.

Who was Carlie Kirk? What did he stand for?
Charlie Kirk, the right-wing influencer who founded Turning Point USA and became a close ally to President Donald Trump, died Wednesday after being shot at a college event in Utah. He was 31 years old.

One person gets shot in Utah, and it's world headline news. Shock and horror. Meanwhile the carnage in Gaza continues with immunity with American weapons. I'm over the USA, and I sense the silent majority is too. I'll never visit or buy their products.

I do differentiate between the behaviour of the current regime and America and the American people. However there is no doubt that tourists dont want to travel to America and people are actively boycotting American products. Additional reasons why Trumpty Dumpties MAGA policies will fail.
All economic indicators are worse than when he took power.
There are some things in American culture that make no sense to the rest of the world. The misrepresentation of the constitution that the right to bear arms was meant for other purposes than for use in an organised militia to protect from a malign government for one. If there ever was a malign government...........and the right to bear arms as defined in the constitution has thus far done nothing to protect from this government.
All the evidence proves that citizens owning guns is a stupid idea. Accessibility to guns = gun deaths. Period. They dont protect. Pretty much the rest of the world restricts access to guns. There is only one place in the world where children get shot in their classrooms on practically a weekly basis.
IMO the rights of wider society to be protected from this kind of violence over-ride the rights of the individual to bear arms.

I stumbled on this artist a few weeks ago, when I crawled out from under my rock.
There are some verses in there about Gaza/palestine.
